asked for pics got sent some of a brand new looking manifold, with a T4 flange but when asked if it was t4 was told it was definitely t3..

don't mean to disrupt the sale but didn't sit right with me, don't know how to post pics up here or I would

I got the same. A pic of a T4 Twin Scroll 6boost manifold with a declaration of it being T3. When i asked for bolt spacing to confirm the flange, I didn't get any reply

I'm sure its great for someone wanting a T4 twin scroll but not so good for those wanting what it is advertised as

To anyone looking to buy this manifold, STOP. The seller has already told me that this has sold... Local pick up....

The seller got upset when I asked him for evidence that he actually had the manifold. The pictures which were sent to me (probably the same others have received) came from a 2006 thread about exhaust manifolds and were stolen straight from SAU!!! I found them really easily after googling 6boost RB25!

The sender claimed them as his own, even saying one of them was after the manifold had been used. Despite the fact that it clearly had not. When I called him on that he told me that they were his photo's. I asked him to prove this. He didn't instead he simply told me that the manifold had now sold.

- Never sent actual photo of manifold to my phone.

- Never sent any photo's of the manifold to my email, despite several requests.

Be careful about dishonest people on SAU! He is also selling other items in this section and like this thread, no photo's in any of them...

Buyer beware

I got sent photos to both my email and phone, but when the correspondence stopped when i questioned whether it was T3

I got sent the same photos from this other FS thread http://www.boostclassifieds.com.au/advert/2208923-6boost-Rb25-Exhaust-Manifold-EXC-Cond-for-Sale.html

I also got sent the flange photo from this thread http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/rb-tech/115980-group-buy-6boost-rb-exhaust-manifold.html

Yep looks dodgy

Well if this is the case i've been done!!!

I transfered this guy $1100 last friday, 26 of July, in payment for the manifold and the GT3582R turbo he has up for sale. He said he posted it that friday or saturday and when i checked with him yesterday, friday the 2nd of august, if he had an ETA or tracking number (was meant to be sent registered), he just said "Should arrive anyday mate".

Then to top it all off earlier tonight he contacts me saying that he hasn't seen the money yet and is questioning if i've transfered it...

Any thoughts on what i should do?!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WANKER AS HE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NEVER SEND YOU YOUR ITEMS, HE WILL JUST LIE ABOUT NOT GETTING THE MONEY, IT'S A SCAM

  • 2 months later...

I should hope at least some of you guys that have been ripped off actually carried out due diligence here and took steps to verify this persons location and identify before blindly transferring them money.

    • This was a huge help.  We followed the steps,  although shifting into 2nd was actually into 3rd for us,  and 1st was into 2nd ( steps 9 and 11) .  The long flash was the 4th flash.  So shift solenoid A is possibly the culprit.  Is this inside the transmission itself? Or is it accessible by just front the pan? Or is it bolted to the outside of the transmission?  Thanos for your help everyone
    • Can you enlighten me on your best practice regarding these hoses? I don't wanna make the same mistake if you already got a better solution.
    • I have some silicon hoses already, for example engine to watercooler. But yeah, I get the sentiment. The lower intercooler silicon hose is drippy too, despite not being very old. Does anyone except Nismo make these same lines out of rubber? Long term I think they'd be the better replacement, especially since the car won't live as hard a life anymore as in the past nor be driven as often.
    • I know most issues are just age related. But for example the turbo oil drains, there is dash adapters for these and you can just make a braided teflon line for them and (probably) never have them leak again. Also not terribly expensive. Can you even get the factory hardlines from new? Or are they repairable if they break?
    • I know it'd be much much easier with the tool. I hope I can find one that won't take 3 weeks to get to me an isn't a "Asian models kit" that has tons of (to me) useless adapters for a load of cash.   It's a summer project/fun car. I do wanna enjoy it, without endless downtime over and over. So yeah I would even go and buy an engine crane + stand to save myself the trouble of hard to reach or unreachable places going bad later on. Would also be a good opportunity to put on a Fluidamper, renew the mains seals and stuff like that. I have some money on the side that I can use for that, what I wouldn't want to or be able to do is let everything be done by a shop or have my engine completely rebuild right now. I intend to do most of the "doable" jobs myself. Pulling an engine can't be that hard, can it?
