Turbo side bolted on, making up oil/ coolant lines

Will take pics tomorrow as it sits today, still waiting on the intake manifold and injectors to arrive before I put it in. Quiet annoyed that I was not advised it would take 4 weeks for them to make the manifold... could have just bought a greddy off the shelf and had it in by now!

Yes yes yes.. Pics are important to any build thread haha.. Lots n Lots. :D Good stuff looks to be comming along nicely

I disabled the VCT because I wanted to run big cams, to block it off I simply tapped and grub screwed the feed into the head.

Still awaiting my intake manifold who would have thought it would take 8 weeks from Victoria to Perth...

I think you will be in trouble doing it like that. If it was a neo it would be fine, but pre neo use that feed to lube the front cam bearing. look into the intrrnal vct mod as that will supply oil to the bearing.

Look into how the front cam bearing gets its oil. It's through the vct supply that you have blocked off. How will it be lubed now? You can still do the intrrnal feed with the engine in.

It would be lubed the same way the rest are they don't all have an individual oil feed from the block, I've read up on it before doing it and I've noticed plenty of people have blocked it off by welding or grub screwing it.

Fair enough, if you look at the thread that guy thinks differently, also spoke to my machinist when welding my feed (neo head) and he mentioned non neo use that feed for the front cam bearing, as he had seen a head destroyed as a result. But if you have done your research is your engine to decide what you do.

And keep in mind that the typically when people block the oil feed by welding or grub screwing, they either do the internal feed or run an external line (as most would be keeping VCT)

I understand what your saying and it makes sense, I've spoken with my local tuner and machinists and they have seen the same thing done before so I'm confident it will be fine, if not I will regret not doing it but I'll cross that path when it gets here

No worries man, I havent experienced it first hand so cant confirm what I have heard/read. It's good you have spoken to guys who say it will be ok, so all the best. Cant wait to see it running!
