Can someone comment on how much it reduces the throw...?

I have driven a car with a %30 reduction in throw, and while it was amazingly precise, the crunches became a lot more prevalent.

If your box already has the 'wornout syncro' problems, a short shift kit will only make the matters worse.

I am interested @ that price.

A well designed short shifter will not increase gearbox wear. The problem with most shortened stick shifters is that when shifted hard and fast they allow overselection which wears the shift forks etc. The practice of resting your hand on the shifter when driving does this as well (so don't do it).
