Oh, good grief. RB25 has an 86mm bore. 40 thou oversize is 1.016mm. That's 1.016mm of extra piston diameter. So new bore size is 87.016mm. The capacity will increase by 87.016 squared divided by 86 squared. That's 2.38% or about 2557cc total new capacity.

That's assuming it's not stroked, which it probably isn't. The number of stroked RB25s in the world can probably be counted on one hand.

There is no way to stretch an RB25 to 2.7L without stroking it. That would require an 8% increase in capacity, which means an 89.4mm bore. Huge!
