Not joined. Welded together with tabs, yes, but the pipes are seperate. The BOV return is the larger one. The cam breather is the smaller one. They really should be set up like that, aimed at the turbo inlet (assuming that your's has been chopped up or otherwise vandalised and you're looking to put it back the say it should be).

If you're doing work to that part of the car, don't mess abotu with the original rubber turbo inlet. Get a metal one made up. Much better.
