Morning all

I feel so dumb asking this question as i did 4 years working with these things but is the Trust T78/T88 manifold actually a twin scroll manifold?

We are upgrading the T78 turbo to a Precision Turbo 6766 and want to make sure i get the right housing

The manifold and turbo appears to be split pulse/twin scroll as it is divided, but i had this idea in my head that it needed to have separated, twin wastegates to be a twin scroll manifold

Help would be greatly appreciated as i am about to put a deposit on the new turbo any day now

Thanks in advance

Brad

Does not have to have twin gates to be a twin scroll. Just needs the single gate located in the right position. At work can't full explain.

All the t78/88 manifolds I've seen are twin scrolls.

Thanks Josh

I have neevr actually looked at, or thought about, twin versus single scroll turbo's and now that we are going to swap the T78 for a 6766 its something that has been asked

I nitially just said an open turbo, but glad i looked as i would have made quite a costly mistake

If you have a TS manifold and can get a suitable TS turbine housing then you should have gains low down.

At the top end the divider might cost you a little.

I would go for the TS housing since you have a suitable manifold and enjoy the better response.
