This^^^

Patience has been the key thru this whole process Mik, don't lose it now. ;)

Edit* from seeing it in person the other day, it's gonna be Fantastic and well worth the wait / effort.

Its ok guys im just taking some pics i wont damage anything.

Its just that they wont look as impressive as when its all buffed and back together.

But hey, its a build thread and i like to show what its like throughout the process.

Wheres the sun gone... ill wait for direct sun to get the metallic and pearls showing

Yes, its a good idea, acrylic is very soft.

I wonder if they make clear vinyl wrap........ Might get the good stuff done by a pro if i can.

A few small bits shouldnt cost much to get done.

Im thinking the front and back faces of the skirts, and the front face of the rear pods.

Maybe the black lip on the front bar too.

Mik that is amazing! Can't wait to see it all back together!!

Oh man! That truly does look awesome! Man I love the green with the black lip

Thanks guys! I cant wait to get it all polished and back together.

3-4 weeks at least though oh well, plenty to do in the meantime.

  • 2 weeks later...

New sway bar bushes and links fitted all round.

Its been 3 weeks tomorrow since i painted it.

Might start wet rubbing with 1200 soon.

Looks good with the gold wheels...... :D

Moved it out of the garage to turn it around , and the brake air deflectors are scraping on the inside of the wheels.

Ill have to trim them up a bit, easy, its alloy, and i have good snips.

Rubbing back the orange peel:

Its going to take a while to do properly and not rub through the clear.

Fairly happy with the few defects, as its showing up the smallest scratches and bits of sht now.

Car body is 2/3 finished, plastics next. Then 3 buffing compunds, a sealer, waxes, re-assemble and a full detail.

Yes, still a lot to do, but it feels good to be near the end.

Random Access Memories will no doubt keep playing over and over, but this car is my "game of love" so im "doing it right".

:whistling:

I cant wait either.

I think its going to look awesome, i imagine it gleaming in the sun like an emerald set in gold.

Body is rubbed back, about 1/3 done with the plastics.

I have trimmed the brake air deflecors, i think it scraped off a balance weight from the left wheel, will have to re balance it.

Got some good cutting compound from the paintshop where i got the paint and everything, they have been very helpful.
