I know Gktech sell good ones for around the $200 mark but I'M not a big fan of rose joints either way and all 3 are rose jointed I believe.

Is there any cheap bush type adjustable camber arms out there?

Im also curios as to why the same arms as the first ones are listed as aluminium in one page but steel in another?

Anyone know what they truly are?

Here are the same arms as the first but this time they are described as "high strength steel" http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ADJUSTABLE-REAR-UPPER-CAMBER-CONTROL-ARM-KIT-95-98-02-240SX-S14-S15-R33-R34-RED-/350732093478?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51a9430826&_uhb=1

Justjap have hardrace arms which have rubber bushes, not sure on the durability though (haven't used them myself).

I've used cheap shit arms in my car for years and my advice is...... Don't!

Spend the money and get something decent, i have broken a few now and luckily none of them have caused any damage yet...

I will be spending the money on proper gear in the near future as i cant risk any more issues!

Exactly - do it once do it right

Have seen ppl who post up ebay arms to break right off on the welds, you dont want that going 100km/h on your car!

Ikeya formula do a bush type adjustable arms, you can choose rose joint or bush type when you order it

That's the only company i know who does bush type, the other option is as per above, get camber bolts but they are really just band aid to the issue

Ah interesting, will have too look into that as i thought they only did rose joint!

Repeat, the Hardrace ones should be OK. They look decent and they use rubber bushes instead of rose joints.

Was looking into these too!

same here...didnt see that option...

if thats the case, does it mean that u dont need an engineer to certify if its rubber bush?

I asked that question at the JLM night, i think its a tricky one to answer as although they may be OK for the street they are still a suspension mod and may be deemed defective, i got past the point of caring when it came to that, i try so hard to keep the car within the law but sometimes they make it impossible to modify anything!

c4a0s: unfortunately not, it's not the rose joints which are illegal, i think the fact they have adjustability in them which makes them illegal - it's a pretty grey area on which part is actually illegal, as to them pit inspectors, everything non factory is illegal

Just had a look at ikeya formula website, it looks like they only do rose joints for camber arms, they do have bush type for tension rod and toe rods

I think the only valid argument against adjustable arms has been the rose joints. Because, until recently, there haven't really been any adjustable arms without rose joints, the assumption has been made that it is the arms themselves that are not legal. But I strongly suspect that if I fronted up to Regency Park with some of those Hardrace ones on the car, once the inspector had finished jizzing himself upon seeing them, I'd be able to talk them round to giving it roadworthy on the basis that the arms themselves were not the reason that they were put on the banned list.

Let's face it....you can cut and shut stock arms and get away with it. You've always been able to fabricate other suspension members and get away with it (although some states have probably required engineering for stuff that other states would let slide). GOOD quality adjustable arms with bushes should fall into that category, rather than the one arbitrarily based on the presence of rose joints.

Unfortunately theory and practical is too far apart, passing pits with coilovers are not unheard of even though they are "illegal", and i've pass the pits before with adjustable tension rods with rose joints on my first pit inspection, however it failed couple years later when i got yellowed again with the same tension rods

The fact is, it's best to turn up with stock everything as that will get you through easily

I had a koyo rad on my last pit inspection, and the inspector even asked me why this is not standard item, you didn't think an aftermarket radiator would pose any threat...

The safest way to get pass pit inspection is through engineer cert, full stop

change everything... get an engineer to go through it once... then tada!! :)

i'd go with the ikeya with rubber bush cos almost all rose joints will start making creaking noise after a short while. previously i thought all aftermarket arms only came with rose joints...ikeya formula ftw!! :)

Not sure where you're hearing that - my cusco arms with rose joints are still solid and not making creaking noise, but they do come with dust boot, i think as long as you have dust boot, they should be fine

I've had my cusco arms for about 4 years now

just to clarify, you want camber arms and not just camber bushes right? cos that's your other option.

Yes camber arms only. No point paying just for bushes when complete arms are around the same money and offer much more adjustment

Thankyou so much. Thats exactly the type of thing I am after. I will likely get them, but I prefer poly bushes to rubber as they offer a much more direct feel with some flex and give which I prefer based on past experience (going from stock rubber to poly). Anything like this around?

The last time I had rose joints they started clunking after about 6 months. I hate rose joints so much. Zero flex (which is a bad thing IMO) and dust shield or not who figured metal to metal contact on a constantly moving vibrating part without any lubrication a was good idea in the first place. FFs what is up with the parts scene and their love for rose joints....

Intersting you say this because no one has brougth up the gktech arms?

They ussualy make top tier quality stuff and although they are rose jointed they claim they are teflon coated so I don't know what kind if impact that will have on their wear and tear.002camber_arms_20130513.png

please have a look at these and tell me what you guys think.

So its these vs the hardrace rubber arms?

Any chance of the hardrace ones snapping at the welds?

I'm interested in knowing the answer to this as well, need to get rid of some rear camber on my 33 gtst...

Also the Hardrace ones say "2 Piece Set" and cost $179.... Does this mean that I need to buy 2 x $179, one "Set" per rear wheel? ($358 to adjust my rear camber)

Oh, in terms of the info above the ISC castor arms in my car lasted 6mths before becoming rattly unsafe shit!! They were flogged out and garbage, I changed over to the V2 GKTECH arms and it's been perfect since (not sure how long ago now but a long while) the GKTECH are also lighter, stealth black and have rubber boots, the one thing I liked too is that they are the offset arms :)

changed all the arms in my S13 to the kazama ones, even changed a second set. creaking noises came after 3 months. removed dust boot and regreased the entire joint. no noise... then creaking noises came back after 1 month or so. So i figured it was the rose joints... Friend had ikeya formula ones on his S15.... same issue after couple of months.

I had SRI red rear upper arms in my car, which were squeaking after 6 months. Replaced with GKTech arms. It's been over 3 months now without a noise from them.

No, it means you get two pieces (two arms).
