Well, in every street/track project, comes the time when we have to decide between street usability vs performance.

This is specialy evident when we think in aero mods.

I'm thinking in how to generate more downforce, and for the rear i have a big wing...

Others options to me are: gtr32 oem wing, or something like this...

but i don't think downforce on this last ones be enough... ?

For the front spliter, i'm looking for honeycomb centre aluminium panels, but it seems to be hard to find here...

So i'm thinking to make it from plywood (easy way) or aluminium sheet core (1mm or so) with fibreglass layers, but i can't find anyone did it in this way and i'm a really noob in fiberglass...

I've found other aluminium composites here, like with polyethylene, but density is so high that i think this can be too much weight to get similar properties as plywood or honeycomb panels...

Anyway i'll do some experiments with aluminium and FRP to see how they behave together. And try to figure out how much overhang can go unsupported before it start to flex...

Any input will be very welcome...

That last wing you posted is mainly for high speed stability in drag racing and won't work as well on the track as the 1st wing you posted.

For front end down force, I'd have a go at making a ply wood splitter and see how that turns out.

    • It sounds like the perfect time to do easier tasks like, work out how to pull the headlights fully apart, clean them inside and out, and make them meticulous... Or lose all the clips, f**k up polishing the lenses, and get frustrated with that job while you can't do bigger more fun ones and wind up with no usable headlights...   I mean... What?! 😛
    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lipomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, more time to contemplate rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
