That it does.

Gearing such as close ratio boxes and holingers n diff ratios make a huge difference in how the car comes onto power. Example CRDs JUN and powertunes r34 gtr. But like you say Ash. Some people don't understand.

Rb30's also love to rev if built right. Ask RIPS. he take a dirty 30 to 9-10k rpm without a fuss. It's just not needed in most cases because of the extra torque they make.

As for the to4z maybe it gets the job done. But today there are better options!

Josh.

I have one of these kits in my R34 (not rb26, it's a gtt)

Note their kit which they market as being 25 or 26 compatible didn't come with pistons that suit the Neo head. I realise this thread is referring to the 26 but worth mentioning for anyone who uses the search feature in the future. I'm sure wherever you get it from can supply pistons to suit but I would definitely ask/confirm/double check/triple confirm before you order to be 700% sure to avoid drama.

Hmm well I'm in the process of deciding to go stroker. I've heard things about mixing up the components from a step 1 and step 2 hks 2.8l kit. Or I will just dump my car at race pace and tell them exactly what is recommended based on my application/intended use. Interesting to see how 2.9 functions from a 2.8.

I'm sure Chris will sort it out one way or another. Last time I spoke to him, he was doing his own 2.8 kit which I believe is in his car right now. As far as the 2.9 goes, these things need all the stroke they can get. Every little bit counts! An extra 1.3 mm is an extra 32.5% more stroke than going from a 2.6 to a "2.8" kit. Bring it on I say :D

Thanks guys , I think I will be getting this, Speaking of the powertunes R34 gtr , spoke to the guys there who speak highly of BC obviously as they sell it but that GTR is reliable uses B C stroker makes over 1000hp been doing it for 3 yrs been driven heaps even gets street driven and no issues what so ever.

I also spoke to a few other people who have used his stuff with good comments and no issue, read a few posts of ppl who speak highly of them, I will use a new N1 block as a base, strengthen it everyway possible, do lots of headwork, should be good. Will do some more homework offcourse It is not going to be a rushed thing.

Cheers.

The bc stuff I do hear good things about.

Dont quote me but im sure boost logic are using at least one of their cranks in a 7 sec supra. Will have to find the build again to be 100% sure.

But plenty of guys using them in 2jz's stateside at more than 1000hp with no failures that I have heard of.

You either need a shorter driveway or think about parking half way down....

Just thinking about it gets me all excited to do this a lot faster! I guess you've lived and breathed 2.8's far too long ey Piggy? Chris knows his stuff, I'll let him do the hard work lol

Haha. Well the difference in drive ability and twist between a 2.6 and 2.8 is night and day, lets not even go to a 3.0 or bigger. It baffles me that anyone would consider using a standard stroke length crank when you have it all apart. I realise its more exxy but you get a much better result.

If I didn't have my stroker crank and block, it'll be bigger without hesitation.

Yea I get what you mean, if my engine was apart I would have my engine bored and longer stroke length. The results are just more crisp and can do so much more. Want to chuck some -5's on there with 25-26psi on E85 and aim for high 400's
