Any ship chandlers can swage up wire cable. Go for plastic coated to minimise scratching of paint.

Attach anchors/eye straps and voila!

Mate I have a heap of cable left from my restraint so you can grab som of that. Have cutters and we just need the clamps to put eyes in and that is just up the road. No hints that's CinC

Sleep, who needs sleep, its a good thing that i dont as working Sat monrings means im up all night cursing/fuming.

Ill get the car back on the road this weekend and do some running around for all the bits and pieces... what gauge cable is it Gunnery Seargeant?

4-5mm stainless with nylon clear coating. From my specialist vehicle recovery days I estimate a breaking strain of 4000 kg, but it is nothing like the 35mm I used on Tanks . Try Bunnings for the stainless clamps etc. In dandenong tomorrow but here all day today due to missing turbo bargain .

Basically a few bucks worth of chain from Bunnings + ~$3 snap hook (bought from Kmart earlier, but also available at Bunnings)

Should be fine as long as it doesn't slap against the radiator, which is why I went plastic covered cable.

Cool.. nah there isn't enough links for it to slap against the radiator.. the hook has to be vertical for the latch to close properly with no resistance, so that basically pulls the chain fairly taught.
