Awesome looking build! Can you tell me where you got the fuel line brackets from?

Don't forget to put the cap back on the brake master !!

Friken looks great mate congrats

What sort of numbers are you hoping for once it's all done ?

Haha it's all there now, With the current setup I'm looking at anything around 650 although Closer to 700 the happier I'll be but originally decided to settle with the OS giken twin plate and maybe the turbo might hold us back from a figure nearing closer to that, But anything near 490kW I'll be happy with everything's there for future power provisions anyway

Road tested Thursday afternoon, everything is perfect, Except for the front bar I bought which is still black needs paint haha,
The pedal is really tough to push down on the brake assuming booster needs some love need to gid some dardy kerb stomping action to slow the car down with that bad boy.

Brought car home from the workshop, time to put some run in kms on it,
Can confirm, Sounds like honda tractor with the silencer in, Still loud. Tomei Ti ftw.
Can confirm Straight cut gears are LOUD as f**k.
Can also confirm no A/c, Such regrets, Much why's. Should be ok when weather cools down a bit, I like driving with the window down anyway.
Filled the tank up full , Drove home, Did a nice freeway run, then took a fair few backroads near my house for a bit of stop start, Quite happy with where its at, Will try to get a power tune in the next couple weeks.
So happy with the effort and countless hours the boys have put into it, All the extra bits and pieces absolutely finish the car off, Still a couple bits and bobs we need to get sorted to finish it off, but for now RUN IN ;)

Nice one man!

Hoping there'll be some vids of exhaust and gearbox sounds at some point :)

Soon! Possibly tommorow actually, I took the silencer out and jesus. I don't feel good driving it around that loud haha. Brings the car to life though.

Quick update havnt had much time to give info , But it went 580 on 19psi for a little safe detune to get used to the power after the run in with the 4k limiter and 0 boost.

It drives like a dream, Just gone in for its full power tune while keeping a respectable safe limit so looking at 650+

To any of you that aren't graced with my presence on facebook, I'll chuck a couple of these up. Car got put on the Racewars & F&F 7 promo at morley galleria week after collie, got it all cleaned up nice, Had alot of interest.
Was a good night apart from my Parking lights button on the dash having a burnt out LED and me not knowing it was stuck on , Dry cell didn't like that one at all.
PPG straight cut box is being swapped out for my old stock box for racewars so I can have a 5th gear in time, And hopefully lasts long enough to get a Vmax crack out of it. Will also be on its full power tune to so should be in for some fun :)
Orange indicators have gone on to replace the old smoked corner ones, and finally sorted some side indicators!, Next up probably some Gauges, fix up the interior lining, and probably get the boot relined. Small cosmetic things.
maybe a holinger

at racewars had a Good weekend had so much fun, Wish I had my ppg box in! but i bent the 5th selector fork so back to stocker. Stock box held up well,
First pass I just wanted to feel out the track over the 1000M and get a feel for the shorter braking distance as this is the first time I'd had the GTR out for some real speed runs to really open up, after some encouragement from Brockas basically to not be a bitch I nailed it on the 2nd run
Felt like I had enough for a 260-265 km/h pass with a better 2nd gear grab off the launch, but really couldnt be bothered lining up again against that headwind! All in all fantastic weekend, Had some serious fun lining
up the other boys on the 800 and 400 roll ons and stop starts, Can't wait for the pictures and videos to start popping up I have seriously got to hear what that launch looks like from the outside haha.
Good to put some names to faces off the forums cheers for everyone coming up for a chat and supporting my build from start to finish it's really paid off! And to the guys at the workshop and the spectators and organisers at RW for making it so fun.

    • I should try the experiment you're talking about, the throttle switch is still there carried over from the R32 and it's still all wired up but after I did the whole intake manifold refurb and had to recalibrate the TPS I managed to somehow get the idle switch reporting activation at 0.22V, then when I adjusted it to 0.45V for idle it decided the engine was permanently no longer idling which caused some very weird behavior, closed loop idle was disabled so it would basically be at the whims of the cold start valve and whatever the base timing table was at. Then just unplugging/replugging the TPS with the ECU live caused it to relearn the idle TPS position and decide 0.45V was idle. Presumably there's nothing in the TPS that allows for the throttle switch to "recalibrate" like that, not easily at least.
    • Duh... to answer my own silly question, it's actually described in the FSM... ...400 pages away at the end of the manual, for RB25DE/DET signal descriptions, it cites the TPSwitch signal action, is dependent on the TPSensor value ~ this tends to infer the builtin POT voltage signal is the primary, and the switches are fallback/secondary should the POT fail/TPSensor signal lost (and switch alone with no TPSensor signal allows for base idle speed setting).... makes sense... they (TPS units) used to fail/wear the POT with time, they're not exactly built to last ~ having the switch as a redundancy gets around this...(or, it's less likely both signals would be lost as they're on different power rails)... and of course wrt RB26DETT, you have to electrically disconnect the IACV solenoid from the harness, to defeat idle air control...
    • Dose is unaware just how much fun 145-150kw would be in a 2.5L NC MX5. It would be one of the most fun things to drive to ever grace SAU.
    • Same thought crossed my mind ~ depends on how one connotes 'stalling'...ie; gets a rough/stumbling idle as it get warm until it stalls... or... idles ok and simply falls-over when it gets to temp... ...you can test the whole circuit with a couple of resistors ...unplug coolant temp sensor, bridge terminals with a 2K7 resistor (ECU will do cold start), or with engine warm bridge with a 330R resistor (ECU will consider engine to be at normal operating temp)...it's a quick way to check wiring integrity/ECU response when you don't have a multimeter handy ...
    • They also make them with the motor mounted on the side
