Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Recommended Posts

Morning all.

It was great to meet Anthony, Melly, Zane, Colin, Tony and the owner of one very cool looking blue R31 at Oktoberfest (Greg).

Big thanks to Anthony and Emelie for the meet and greet at the airport and for taking the time out to catch up with some random from NSW. Thanks Melly and Zane for the lift back to the airport after OF. Unfortunately, I still have rather vivid and disturbing memories of the gold shorts guy and the many cross dressers lol

Ps - Still like Michelle's coffee thanks all for attending the pre drinks :)

Yeah Zac talked about that yesterday.

Have done many happy laps and mountain runs on standard 4 stud brakes and I make twice as much power as a natro 25... I don't see what all the fuss is about. I've had brake fade issues once at qr and that was on the nation circuit after many stops from a substantial speed

Because I have never had any brake fade issues ever ;)

She won't be carrying anywhere need the speed you or I do when braking into turn 3/4/6, natro 25s stop moving after 120kph

That is true. But she might want to learn to drive fast as well after she gets her turbo.

Good. Couldn't drive it on the road tho :( it's very quiet haha

We can fix that

Mate just bought a dewalt battery angle grinde, I'll have that sucker setting of car alarms in no time lol

I also have a battery angle grinder...or just remove everything cat-back with a socket set.

    • Yeah, you want the IACV to be running at around 30 "units", variously called "steps" or "duty cycle" depending on the person. That gives it room to go lower if need be and higher ditto.
    • Ah right that makes sense.
    • The RPM is just a target, the ECU will adjust things to try and hit that target but it's by no means guaranteed. If the IACV duty cycle is 0 or something like that and it's actually closing up fully then the idle is as low as it can physically go without reducing ignition timing. The problem can be something like the cold start valve in the IACV not closing fully, worn throttle shaft seals, torn rubber diaphragm in the brake booster allowing unmetered air, etc.
    • Apexi, though I'm not comfortable with setting the idle, knowing me I'll f**k it up lol.
    • What ECU is on your car @silviaz? You can just change the idle target table yourself and the IACV duty cycle. Noting that if you play around with the screw you'll also need to revisit the idle base duty table as you will end up offsetting the lot. Another reason why DBW is superior, there's less mucking about.
