I might pop down late this arvo in a hope it's on the rollers

Yeah.

I don't think it is my coils, I took it for a drive and no issues at all under any load on the factory ones yet when I free rev it around 4k it starts breaking down same as it did with the yellow jackets last night.

I am starting to think it may be over fueling when no boost is being fed in while free revving.

Put the boot into it on the highway and she goes like crazy with no issues exactly the same as it did on the yellow jackets before servicing.

Morning Mangs, got the car up and running on factory coil packs, I took it for a drive but I have not free revved it like I did with the other coil packs.

I will take it for a good drive and see how she goes. May be time to order new coil packs

:) check below

If the only thing moved/disconnected was coil packs to change plugs then it is typically coils. if not, Check leads next, if not then igniter might have a fault.

Just checking with this question, did you change the timing belt/move sensor to do so?

Yeah.

If it's breaking down UNDER LOAD then it will be coils or there abouts... If it's only doing it when free rev the you could have another problem like you said...

Morning all

Morning mate

Sounds like a good plan

Igniter is in the coils, does not look like loom or coils TBH they operate under load and at speed, not plugs either.

Background on the car:

400rwhp r34 gtt

never had an issue with missfire ever

109000K's

only missing at revs while free revving

no issues under load or at max boost (23psi)

I've currently in the process of increasing my curling weight from 15kg to 17.5kg. For the last week I've been doing a set consisting of 8 reps on 17.5, 10 reps on 15 then finish with 10 reps on 12.5kg. That's my super set, I take a 1min rest between these sets and do a total of 4 sets.

Can't lift even an apple afterwards

Yep need a straw and a bench to drink water lol

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
