Most people Ive dealt with to get a RWC are quite relaxed when it comes to getting a car you already own looked over to be registered by for you. Its normally ones where you're going to sell the car they get a bit pedantic

mark it where though .... thus my worry

you mark where one of the bolts is, you can mark two if you want.

should be 3 bolts that hold it on/allow adjustment, when putting it back on be sure you check the end of the cam and the CAS to make sure you dont damage the cas drive when reinstalling it, it should not take much effort to slide it back into the cam if its lined up properly.
