Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Evening all!

They're decent in the dry, but absolute rubbish in the wet. As quite a few at the sprint day last year will attest to :P.

If you think they're 'quite good' in the wet, you need to try some other tyres ;)

I assume you speak of the 595SS......they are useless. Pete, it always rains when I want to go for a nice drive....stupid weather.

I've never had nice tires on my car ever... Maybe one day

skids

Live to bake?

this

Kuhmos FTW!

agreed, and lifespan is much better too

I wasn't using them at the track... but others were and found them to be quite useless.

I have used them on the road before though and they were terrible in the wet. This pair I just found in my garage, I think I bought them second hand from Pete. They are equally awful.

You are right they are never going to be good in the wet due to their tread pattern. Just can't figure out why people keep buying them and claiming they are rajab's gift of cheap tyres when they are so, so bad in the wet :S.

Guess the kiddies just love their liquid horsepower and don't know how much better it is to have tyres that actually provide some traction in the wet

they do break traction pretty easily too....Sic skids, but mine left very little marks on the road...skid fail :(

so trailer booked, address in hand, and revs cheack all good :)

getting the body tomorrow and then let the swapping begin!!

get into it!

Commo spec?

LS7?

good chat :P

    • Stock ECU has compensation, you won't damage the engine. Personally I recommend getting an acceptable catalytic converter, it doesn't need to be OEM and super expensive but a cheap universal one to keep it from being super obnoxious to be around. Decatted cars smell pretty awful.
    • Correction. Ignition was on before, but I guess the car had to be running for it to work.
    • The stock ECU won't care. The gains from Nistuning the ECU and then "optimising" the fuel and ignition tables will be about 2 more HP.
    • Appreciate the feedback. It is street car, but not a daily. Last week I got a quote from a good exhaust shop for a decat, one which is bolt-on, bolt-off to be easily replaceable. I got quoted for around €150. I usually do push the motor, but I wasn't in this case to make sure that no damage is done until I get the cat sorted. I think it's best to also ask the exhaust shop for the other option and see what they can do. If (big if) I were to decat though, would it be best to tune the car or would the stock ECU handle it? As far as I know, the stock ECU is not tunable and that would require additional purchases.
    • As above, definitely bash it or get it replaced with a high flow unit.
