Where to start...

Monday afternoon, we have a script run which exports stuff into a stupid legacy forecast reporting tool. Script effed up and actually pushed info into P6 and blew away regions forecasts, to the tune of about $1B. Was at work until after 6:30 searching for what happened. No dice.

Tuesday, come in, turns out that the script had been changed, looking for a tag, so at least I knew what exactly was affected. So have to get the planner in the region to basically re do his month end update. However, Tuesday just happened to be the day that this region got their Win 7 upgrade, so planner had no P6 access to do it.

So yesterday was spent helping smash through the update with him as we are now 2 days behind EOM. At least I left work at a reasonable time.

But the bike battery died halfway home and had to get Cara to come get me (which went down well cause she is sick), so still didn't get home til after 8pm. While waiting for her I removed battery to charge it overnight.

Get her to drop me at bike this morning, chuck battery in, sweet everything works. But progressively died riding back into work, just made it to the carpark without indicators or headlights etc. Now I am stuck in city, 2.5 days behind where I need to be, needing a new battery before dark (no headlights).

Cara is real happy she has to run around and get me one and bring it into CBD.

    • Here is the before and after of the scraping/sanding of the IC pads on the tachometer board for the fix mentioned in this thread. And yes it worked fine after. Just a note if you change any components on the board the tach calibration can be wrong showing the wrong idle etc...only problem is once it is installed back in the cluster you can't get to it to adjust...ouch! My fix was to cut out the calibration pot (the blue one) from the board and run it with two wires to the fuse panel under the dash where I could adjust the idle calibration once everything was installed. And yes I soldered everything up again including the half soldered components either side of the IC in my photos
    • After an excellent condition, working! oem radio for a 97 r33 And the steering wheel shroud/cover as mines a little bit scratched up Am in Melbourne
    • So my exhaust is loud and sounds awesome (good thing) but also is very loud when coming and going, dont want to piss off the neighours etc Are the varex adjustable mufflers any good? I contacted them but they dont make r33 specific exhausts Ive also see the adjustable inlets on this site but apparently they might restrict airflow too much which wouldnt be good for the engine. Would prefer something thats adjustable from in cabin so i can change it on the fly, dont really want to put in one of those permanent exhaust tip things.  Any other recommendations would be appreciated!
    • You don't need to lean as far to pour the oil in, or change the spark plugs either 😛
    • Indeed, it is much easier to get at the filter with the engine on a stand
