Pete, if you're serious about investing, take a look at the reports that have just been released and see what some experts opinions are. Personally, I think that commsec give a fairly even report on what's what.

We won 2 awards at the Australian Institute of Project Management Awards late last week.

Construction/Engineering Project in Excess of $100,000,000

And

Project of the Year.

Will look good on the CV if nothing else :D

Yeah, doing some research on my week off, so thanks for the tip of what to be looking for.

Pete the above is a good a start as any in terms of investerment education. It is a very dry read but covers all the important stuff.

Would not recommend apartments Andy. Way too many being built at the moment for there to be any decent capital growth and rental yields you can do better buying blue chip shares.

Melbourne and Sydney are experiencing it already with rents dropping near the city as more apartments get built and landlords start competing for tenants.

Yeah, that's what's turned me off of investment properties.

Apartments are going to be oversupplied, houses have already grown so much they can't really grow too much more (bar local inconsistencies I suppose).

Sad afternoon today though, the Suzuki is gone. On the plus side it means more funds for my Dad to restore the Datsun.

With long term in mind and no mortgages to deal withI can't really lose. Borrowing the money would be a different story.

Just this year my shares lost something like 60,000. I was just lucky that at the last minute that was recouped by CBA

    • Does anyone know what the centreline should be for the vct intake cam? On my cam spec card it just says VARI and doesn’t actually tell me what the centreline should be. I had to adjust my exhaust cam gear by about 5 degrees advanced so I’m guessing I would have to adjust my intake as well? Current intake centreline is 119 deg. Iv already asked kelford and they won’t respond, It’s the 246-A 262 cams.  thanks for the help guys
    • Get a timing light on it and verify it's sparking reliably at a sane ignition timing. Use a COP extension lead to be 100% sure about timing instead of hoping that the timing loop on the back of the engine is accurate. Make sure it's actually injecting fuel. MAF is not used on the stock ECUs for initial cranking.
    • RE5R01A is the transmission. Didn't realize they had a 5 speed for the NA cars but for some reason the turbo engines stuck to 4 speeds. Looks like the solenoid block is still available from Nissan directly at a somewhat reasonable price: 31940-60X01 https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/skyline/er33/6568-rb25de/trans/317 I would move sooner on this than later. The moment the de minimis exception for Japan goes away expect to be paying 25% tariffs even for stuff like this.
    • Only RB26 are low from factory. And even then the ECU actually want high impedance, because it's essentially the same ECU as the RB20 anyway, and thus they have a f**king resistor pack!
    • Is this preventable by priming the system with external oil pressure? I've seen the speed academy folks hook up an external oil priming system to the oil pressure sensor port with an air compressor to check for oil leaks before putting an engine back in a car.
