In the words of someone, if its more than 50 bucks and about the right weight it'll be fine unless its a massive hp track monster

This^

But I still like using decent class 4 synth, especially when you get it for $50 on sale ;)

but thinner when oil is cold

Which is what you want, gets up and around all the moving parts in the head ASAP while there is no stress (assuming you aren't driving like a dick) to provide protection.

I know. But the price of that oil is $100 for five litres and it doesn't get cold enough here to warrant 0w IMO

5w 30 or 5w 50 does a great job here in Oz

Changed my oil today with the full syn Nulon 5W30 as always, anything that can stop mitsubishi lifters rattling like a diesel truck must be good stuff :D

Nulon 'full synth' isn't actually a true synth, unless it's Nulon racing.

What Greg said, I bought a couple bottles while it's cheap.

    • Hello everybody. I have no idea where to get a ethanol tester besides online and want to run a e30 mix in my bmw m2. In order for my calculator to work i need to know what ethanol rating the e85 pump is and this is my local station would anyone know or is it negligible to find specifically. Thanks🙂

    • My brother's old Pulsar had approx 10 year old tyres (crappy Zeix). The sidewalls split on all four tyres in the space of a week. I'd be paranoid on 10 year old tyres.
    • I've got 15 year old tyres on a car in my garage, holding air (holding it better than the daily driver does!) and no signs of rotting/cracking/drying out. Oh, and they've only been garaged the last 3. Before that they sat in a couple of different paddocks/yards, and even spent about a week underwater too. However, weather and other environmental factors can really change how quickly they start to dry out and crack.
    • The moment I read "never brought in the 1 child policy like China" I was ready to send a reply "it's what they use the second child in china for..." Ha ha ha I can tell how quickly your brain squirrels 😛
