$225 for the alpine and $239 for the response

but which would be better to get.. i dont mind the secondhandy if its miles better than the response.

i am running a pair of MB Quart Splits with it

Find out which of these amps:

Has an unregulated power supply

Delivers the most current

Is stable at lower impedances.

The amount of current an amplifier will stably deliver is more important in determining how well it will handle transients & "grip"your speakers than an RMS wattage rating. An unregulated power supply means more current to your speakers ( therefore more headroom for transients) with higher battery voltage. Generally, if an amplifier can deliver more current at lower impedances (2 or better yet 1 ohm) the better. The next most important factor is slew rate (transistor reaction time) lower slew rate is better. Next on the list is THD (total harmonic distortion) expressed as a percentage, lower is better. Channel seperation is next consideration (higher is better).

Go with the Alpine. I've owned response amps before and they aren't the best. Had a lot of noise and distortion compared to my Fusion amp.

yeah go with alpine.. I've got a reponse one and they give out a hissing sound... Not good at all...Really do regret buying them.
