R32 Gts4 Whiring Noise

Hey guys

My r32 gts4 has a weird whiring/whining noise coming from the timing belt area near the cam gears.

I have done some searches and only seem to find info on engines that have just had the belt changed and making similar noises.

The belt hasnt been changed recently at all and noise only started recently.

Any idea on what it could be?

It sounds like a really noisy fan and gets louder with revs.

Any help would be fantastic.

Tensioner pulley might be seizing?

^^ dry tensioner bearings, over tightened belt, tired bearings. . Possibly any /all or none of those three

What belt did you use? The Gates racing belt is pretty noisy. Did you change the Idler and Tensioner when the belt was done? You really should have, along with replacing the cam seals while it's all apart, even the water pump.

Oh, and get the Idler and Tensioner from cbc bearings, HEAPS cheaper for the exact same thing, just no nissan box.
