pretty sure its factory.... i had the air purifier on the parcel shelf too..... and the front spoiler that can be tilted via a switch next to wheel.

Could it be a siren light maybe? Or perhaps a radar detector and the LED lights light up as you get closes to a radar signal?

my guess with the solar box is it's infra red, the two options on the side turn it on or have it flash is some sort of sequence.
for what ? i would not have a clue....

It's odd, there is no mark on the bumper to say that there was anything even there.. Unless it's been glassed and resprayed...

As for the little solar thingy-ma-jig.. I'm lost!
The LED's on the front of it don't flash, or light up, at all, they never have! You can flick the switch to OFF/IL/SQ... nothing happens!
No noises, no lights, no nothing! It's got me stumped...

Does the LED box look like there is room for a battery pack? Could it be part of a Jap spec Alarm system that hasn't been removed?

Nah I can't see any where you could put a battery... it's attached to the dash quite firmly, I've been temped to just give it a big yank, but a bit worried about damaging any wiring underneath or the dash itself!

If its not actually broken somehow, try turning it on then cause some kind of vibration or loud noise.

Have you tried starting the car while its turned on?

I got a little brave and tried prying it off... dunno what kind of double sided tape was used, but it was amazingly strong stuff!!!
