After nearly 3 months of ownership I finally had 5 seconds to myself to have a look around my PNM35. I'm stoked to report it's in astoundingly good nick, with the only signs of deterioration underneath being the outer wall of the exhaust rusting in a couple of small spots. Good excuse for an exhaust change then. :P

When I start the car the DVD player makes a shuffling noise, the radio works (albeit on Japanese frequencies) and the aircon seems fine on every setting, but the pop-up screen shows no signs of life at all, no noises to indicate it's trying to come out or anything. Note this is a non-Bose setup.

I had a look in the driver's footwell fuse box and as far as I can tell the only slot missing a fuse is one in the middle on the top row, which the diagram doesn't have a rating for, just some Japanese text in a smaller box. Is this supposed to have a fuse in it, and if so what rating?

Under what circumstances does the screen come up? Whenever the car is turned on? Or just when certain functions are performed such as putting the car in reverse? It's hard to diagnose an issue when I don't know if it should actually be doing anything in the first place.

I tried searching but every topic I looked at seemed to end with an unanswered question or wasn't quite what I was after.

Thanks in advance.

Screen will only come up when you press the button on the top. If no action, then it's ok to pull up the screen. That might provided enough motivation to get the motor working.

Mine had a fit once, when it would only come up 1/2 way, after pulling it up to the top of the travel it has worked fine.

Ok thanks, I'll give it a try. Is there any easy/non-damaging spot to get something like a screwdriver under to lift it? It's completely within the housing so I can't grab it with my fingers.
