Car was inspected today by Stateroads. It passed every test except for one of the struts was leaking. The strut was replaced today by the dealership (I'll confirm in person that it was, but they have a workshop there so I don't doubt it)

.

Everything else was perfect except for a minor faded section on the front left quarter panel, which I already knew about.

The final comments for the inspector were:

"THIS VEHICLE PRESENTS AS IN REASONABLE CONDITION FOR ITS AGE ,THE BODY SHOWS NO MAJOR STRUCTURAL

OR MAJOR BODY REPAIR.SOME SUPERFICIAL REPAIR AND PAINTWORK TO PANELS SHOWN.
THE ENGINE RUNS AND SOUNDS GOOD FOR AGE WITH NO MAJOR NOISE SMOKE OR FUMES EVIDENT DURING
ENGINE TESTING.
THIS VEHICLE TEST DROVE AND PERFORMED REASONABLY WELL FOR ITS AGE WITH NO MAJOR DRIVELINE OR
UNDERCARRIAGE NOISE AUDIBLE ON THE TEST DRIVE."

Sounds alright mate, choice is on you now :)

You went the right way about it in the end. And keep that State Roads report, as it's a good bit of paper to have if/when you decide to sell yourself.

Yep picked it up on Wednesday :) Don't have any decent pics other than the ones that were previously uploaded, I'll try get some this weekend. Loving the drive so far

Yewwww! Good result, throw some pics up and get looking for some new rims ASAP, even stockies will do!

haha come on the wheels aren't "that" bad. At least they aren't chrome dishplate rims. I'm currently saving for other things so not sure if I'm going to drop 1k+ for a new set for a while.

  • 3 weeks later...

That's the series 2 front bar I'm fairly certain. 2000+ baby.

I've always been a fan of series 1 tho, more aggressive I feel.

But looks clean man! I forgot black cars are meant to look like that... mine is so dirty atm :'(

The photo might be playing some tricks haha it's in good condition but definitely needs a good cut and polish. I've just sold my FTO so might have some funds for a set of wheels under 1k

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
