R32 Rb20Det White Wire 12V Contsant To Ignition Coil Question

gday guys,

i have recently bought a r32 that needs a bit of work that im more than happy to do, but one thing has me baffled and i was wondering if i could throw u guys an question.

There is no 12v constant to the white wire to the coils, ive only found this out as previous owner has ran a wire from the battery to feed the 12v to the white wire...

Any ideas why this is done or what its bypassing? is it a common method?

Ive had a look around on other forums and read "there is a 12v wire coming up the firewall that supplys the white wire" - not that i can see and ive tested all wires to ignitor module and theres no power at all to any plugs..

Kinda stuck but not, car still drives but would rather do it right than leave it the way it is...

triple checking fuses tomorrow..

Check that the ignition coil relay - located down by the ECU - is working.
