Hey

Castle Hill Raceway is still around and going strong. I have been racing there for 10 or so years now. It is fun and a friendly track that does not break your car everytime you touch something, on most Friday night's. For beginners(novice) you don't need top notch stuff, however over the last 5 years there have been many changes (basically more powerful motors, batteries and esc's). Any questions just ask, always trying to get new blood into the hobby, if you drop by (or anyone else) say hi, I'm in modified.

P.S I saw your post saying you don't want to race, but it is a lot of fun and I doubt you will regret it. I originally said I did not want to race....

Peter

Hi Peter,

I actually did email with the organisers at Castle Hill Raceway, they told me that it's all full (booked out) until Christmas? Anyway not a problem seems like we have enough here for our own gathering, some time down the track!

Yes the venue gets used a lot, but Friday night's are never full, they just add a class nudge, nudge. Novice class has everything from drivers ready to move up, to drivers that can't figure out which way to turn the wheel, lol. So there's no shame, come for a visit and see what you think.

Alright Pete if you say i can just join in then i'll rock up once my car has few of the upgrades done =) Just that from the brief convo with the organiser it sounded like they didn't have space for people until much later - and that you had to rego to turn up?!

So here are a few picks of my 2 cars. The Porsche and the V8 are on my Nitro body car and the 34 is my Electric drift car. That also has LED headlights and tail lights. I also have an MY05 STI body for the drifter. And 2 supra bodies both purple.

Booo no nitro cars at castle hill :( I have my Electric drifter but shes about 4 years old and probably way outdated. Like trying to run windows 98 against Windows 8 lol

Interested, if anyone wants to meet for car park ( smooth surface ) free run/drift session, I have some track material.

North shore area preferable evenings or Sunday.

Regards Jason. ;)

Anyone thinking of getting into racing, don't worry too much about the kit for your first year. Stock class when I ran it had all kinds of cars and some very old stuff. Yes, there were a few disappointed young'ns that had Tamiya Plastic TA-01's that weren't competitive.

But if you have just about any old racing chassis, I guarantee you that there is more to be learned about car driving and car set up than having the newest chassis will get you.

My kit is now over a decade old. Been meaning to make a drift chassis out of one of my old grip cars. Just where to find the time.
