M35 Headlight Cutting Out

Hi all,

This has been an ongoing issue that I've just ignored but thought I should get to the bottom of it. My passenger side headlight randomly cuts out and then comes back on after flicking the lights off and on again. 99% of the time it is just the passenger side lamp however after a long drive on the highway one night I actually lost both.

From some quick googling it says this can often happen with a bad ground, if so how would I find the headights ground (sorry for the noob question, I'm clearly far from an electronics genius haha)?

If both are dropping out it definitely sounds like an electrical fault in the loom, or a relay. Where are you Jack? Perhaps there is someone near you with a multimeter that could help check it out for some cans?

One of mine does this randomly (D/S); I believe it's a dodgy ballast.

Any idea whether it's an easy/cheap fix? Or should I just head off to the auto electrician?

I don't know, I haven't tried another ballast to see yet.
