Were you in Melbourne Angelo? I have about a dozen wastegate springs laying around for Tial/Turbosmart gates, I even had some heavy springs custom made when Turbosmart refused to come to the party with a decent seat pressure.

Otherwise, just ring Turbosmart. They got mine to me pretty quick. Just remember the springs will soften over a few heat cycles, and the psi rating was nowhere near what I needed. (Higher manifold pressure will blow the gate open earlier.)

The other option is to use the top port to hold the gate shut, using a 4 or 5 port MAC valve, should help hold the boost flat with what you have now.

do they actually soften with a few heat cycles? I just put a new wastegate and spring in mine. supposedly 1Bar spring in an aftermarket actuator (internally gated). It worked around 12.5psi when I first used it yesterday, now its about 11 psi. I loved the extra response it gave but now I can't keep the damn thing shut

If it is internally gated, the spring is far enough away from the heat I would think.

I am running all 3 Turbosmart springs, and the heaviest they will sell for the new 45mm compact gate. It was apparently good for 26psi, it only ever held 24psi for the tune. Since then it has dropped to 19psi on gate pressure so I needed to run boost to the top port.

I had quite the argument with Turbosmart over it, as I wanted to run 30psi off the gate originally, they said their gates aren't up to the task of running that much seat pressure, and they couldn't make me stiffer springs.

My suggestion to anyone about to buy a new gate is to run the 44mm Tial with water cooling. Tial gates hold 4 springs as a bonus, not sure what the maximum pressure is though.

can you explain a little more on the second option !

the second option is for external gate, your turbosmart actuator is a IWG75? they take same springs as 38 ultragate etc

turbosmart does a range of high psi gates now, come standard at 35 & 40 psi

Really? Perhaps my whinging paid off. :P
