ive just recently bought an auto R34 and im looking at converting it to a manual. i think i can get my hands on a r34 gearbox off a mate, im doing this on a slight budget so ive been looking at r33 pedals and clutch master cylinder.

i know r34 is a pull type clutch and r33 is a push type. now my question is can i use r34 gearbox with pull type slave cylinder and r33 clutch pedal and master cylinder.

i have done numerous searches and have found lots of people who have done the conversion but i cant find the answer i need.

Thankyou in advance. Also brand new to the forum and hello to you all. cheers Jake.

No, the pivot assembly in an R34 (pull type) has a different mounting point in the gearbox centre plate than the R33 pivot ball (push type).

Note I said that the pull type uses a pivot assembly and the push type uses a pivot ball.

I have a thread somewhere in this section that has a diagram from Nissan FAST which shows the R34 mounting assembly. Google an R33 setup, compare the differences and you will understand what I mean.

I'm not sure that answered the question.

I think the answer is "Yes. As long as the gearbox and clutch are R34 (pull) there should be no problem with an R33 pedal and master. It's just hydraulics."

Having said that.......We're assuming that the masters are approx the same in terms of bore size, which they may not be, and that might interfere with how well it works. And we are also assuming that the R33 stuff all bolts up into the R34 the same way, which it might not, regardless of how similar the chassis are.
