Hey guys- R34GTT running Precision 5558 and usual support mods- 18psi/286rwkw.

Got a timing light, disconnected TPS plugs, pulled no.1 coilpack off, ran a short spark plug wire from spark plug to coilpack (connected via a bolt) and clamped the timing light inductor to this wire.

Base Timing sits at around 13-13.5 degrees from eyesight, should I set this at 15degrees by rotating the CAS clockwise slightly? Do I do this with motor running or off and will this screw up my tune because I dont know if car was tuned at 13.5 or 15 degrees BTDC?

I have a missfire/power loss at WOT usually when hot and my off boost power seems low as well/ not as much torque. Have pulled off my z32 afm, cleaned it with brake cleaner n soldered the joints. Pulled off all plugs (coppers @0.8gap)n coils except no.4 and they all look in tip top shape/ no discoloration in plugs/fuel in cylinders etc. Coils are YJ less than 2 years old and I hope the farkers are ok. So Im hoping the missfire is because my timing is out a bit/ this likely?

Thanks for the help

Ok so came back after a bit of a spirited drive on such a hot day and checked timing again after a few mins cool down- now it was almost 15 degrees btdc- I would say 14.8-14.9 degrees btdc, so seems about alrite. Still had misfires on wot in the beginning but goes away..hoping its not the damn coilpacks as theyre still newish around 5-7000 kms and plugs are much much newer/looks new too. Afm cleaned/soldered n all- yet this farkin misfire rears its ugly head :/
