Don't be scared to use it

Ive mentioned before that I had already done the cleaning but am still having the issue therefore I asked in a thread with someone else with the same issue. Infact, I used that very article as a guide.

The second question was which plug was for the TPS, since that article has only 1 plug where as my R33 has 2.

Thanks for the contribution though.

For mine, they both have cables. I've read that the grey is for auto's but mine's a manual. Perhaps the grey cable isn't connected further down the loom but at the plug, its definitely connected.

Maybe. I've only had the car for a few months. Its got a proper manual gearbox and the gauge cluster is for a manual too. Anyway, so a manual shouldn't have that plug and so its the other brown one. Is there anything else that can cause the rough idle? The revs dont change that much, only like 50-100prm, its more the car shakes. Its not O2 sensor as I disconnected that and still had problems. Revs are adjusted properly because i just disconnected both the grey and brown cable and couldn't get the revs to drop any further than 1000, the screw in AAC is all the way in. I just want to make sure that its nothing major.

My boost gauge piping had split (for the second time) so I fixed that although I doubt that'll cause the air-con issue.

My car has not buttons or anything inside. The only sign of an auto car are the two plugs on throttle body. Maybe they installed a auto throttle body? Not sure but yeah inside the car, there are no signs unless I'm missing something very subtle.

Havnt had a proper chance to test but initial impressions are that the shaking is alot less violent....so im assuming this vaccum leak could be a factor. Unplugging any sensors had no effect...testing shall continue

  • 3 weeks later...

btw, ive seen quite a few series 2 manual skylines with the 2 plugs on the throttle body...maybe all series 2's have it?

edit: there are series 1 auto skylines with 1 plug...i think it may be a series vs 2 thing rather than auto vs manual?
