Hi All , last night my brothers Blue R32 GTR was stolen from our driveway, being alarmed and having a rottweiler in our yard was not enough.

It was stolen from the Broadbeach Waters Area of the Gold Coast between 11 am and 5 am 09-06-2004.. It has R33 gtr wheels and the car was bright metallic blue in colour.. Large HKS exhaust.. (it stands out like dogs ......!).

As they day goes on i will post pictures and a detailed list of parts on the car..

I want as many people to see this thread as possible, as it grows with more info could you please link it to ANY other forums that you know of..

He had owned it a year and bought it from Paul Gasper - Garage Hiramatsu..!

Police are an unhelpful lot, so far, Just took a report, "thats all we can do"..

I am going to offer a very substantial reward ( 4 figures ) , for the return or information leading to the return of the car..

Here are some pics,

CAR HAS BEEN SPOTTED BY BISCUIT, Biscuit chased it in his vy ss up to 200klmh through red lights..

Some prick is driving it around, .. this ****ing sucks

ALL GOLD COASTERS KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN IT IS OUT THERE..

He must have thought the vyss was an unmarked cop car..

12-06-2004

My brother spotted it again last night, he crossed the traffic island and gave chase in a honda CRV, he lost him in the back streets, but went to the broadwater carpark 20 mins later and asked around, the car had just been there..

this guy is dumb as shit, i have a feeling we will get it back, but unsure of what condition the car will be in, if he is prepared to get chased and do over 200klmh i have a feeling he will end his own life in the car.. I know what it is capable of...

We have been in constant contact with the police the whole time , but they can only do so much, ..

Another thing is what to do, chase him and then what, watch him crash the car? This dick will be sorry when hes caught..

ALL GOLD COASTERS keep your eyes peeled, i have a reward if you spot it and call 55316682 or 0410700017..

Thanks for your support guys, i want everyone to evaluate thier cars security systems, like a routine check up.. and see if there is nothing else you can do to stop thieves..

i will not put a detail parts list yet as my first thoughts were that the car is in bits..

Thanks again.. i will keep you posted..

Fark man! sorry to hear about this mate. I will keep an eye out. The guy who stole it must be first class tool, to be showing up around the carpark on a sat nite etc. Its only gonna be a matter of time. Get the word out and he will be caught if he is driving it around....

What kind of a dickhead steals a car like that, then drives it around and to the BWCP of all places.

Rest assured he will be getting a nice arse reaming in jail very very soon.

All car thieves are obviously gay because they all want to experience a bit of man lovin' prison style

thats f**d....hope you guys get it back safe...we will also keep an eye out and spread the word...

i'd prolly suggest if u see the guy in it, then hang back and go stealth mode till he stops and actually gets out of the car...then get someone to guard the car so he dont go back in...if u can get the mofo do that too :(

good luck!

The car was in kingaroy on thursday night friday morning early. someone should know who was driving it,being a small town. I'll ask some of the local deadbeats who drool over Skylines. hope I can help you get it back in one piece.

Surely a police patrol car has seen it. How many times do u pull up at the lights in ur skyline and have the cops behind you looking up ur rego details in the computer checking out everything. Only a matter of time mate, good luck, and I hope the car is still alright...

    • What are you doing with the car? street car or race car? People get hung up on the squat of the s/r chassis rears. There is positives to the squat if a car is setup and driven correctly for it (correct ride height, spring rate, alignment, damper valving). Generally just lengthen the rear traction arm by 5-10mm and that will help the squat and bump steer too. You are also correct with the roll centre too. This too also needs to be adjustable if you start messing with suspension geometry.   Having done quiet a bit of testing on race cars this year in regards to rear squat, I've seen some big positives from it in regards to drive off corners and traction.
    • I find I am using the MX5 for everything except long overnight cruises with Jackie, or, if picking up the kids to go somewhere, the SS has so much more room inside, and is much more comfortable if your going to be doing Hwy driving for 6-8 hours And the MX5 isn't bad in stop go traffic for a manual transmission car, whilst the clutch kit has been upgraded from stock, it is still light, and also not having a stupidly light flywheel in it helps as well, I've spent alot of time sitting on the M5, M4 and M7 stuck in traffic when plodding around the Greater Sydney Region in it Another benefit is MX5's are not really a car that gets stolen, you can pretty much park it anywhere, and it will still be there when you return
    • I can totally get why you like it for that sort of commute. I was thinking BoganDore because it's such a lazy drive, for things like stop start traffic.   I used to do over an hour in stop start shit from one side of Bris to the next, twice a day. My choice of car was larger displacement, with an auto. Basically for torque in low rpm/very low speed, and no clutch pedal. But loved a fun manual for the weekends, which the partner has (plus had the LandCruiser too for other fun drives). I now have an EV as a work car, and I tell ya what, ultimate daily driver, especially if youre out of energy, like I often am after work. I don't even need to touch the brake pedal   That said, I'm presently rebuilding the Liberty GTB to get it setup for weekend drives and track abuse! So small high revving turbo engine with 6 speed cog swapper!   But for your style of commute, I'd probably take the MX5 too!   For those choices, I'm ignoring fuel economy. Because I know how atrocious V8 daily life is for fuel from when I used to daily a manual SS, ha ha. Hence why I know I love the daily rumble of a V8
    • II know what u are saying after 9 years of hibernating my stock engined  110,00km gtt I got it registered 2 weeks ago. Took it for a drive a couple of days ago and some fresh bp fuel, I just couldn’t stop grinning and dreaming of when I will start my build thread. its just such a primal man feeling many forget to enjoy I wish u so much enjoyment with your little racer mate
    • People just don't understand how good MX5's actually are and how fun they are to drive, park, manuever. You feel like you have got some fun cheat code, while everyone else is sitting in their luxobargeSUV like normies who missed the point of living. It really is that noticable. As long as you/your stuff fit, and you're comfortable (they are), a MX5 is the best car on earth to daily around.
