I'm assuming this is for your R34 GTT?

If so, what kind of work do you want done by them?

There's lots of shops I'd recommend for oil changes etc, but wouldn't let them come within 50 meters of the car if it was a turbo upgrade or head rebuild...

Keep in mind also, that every shop is going to have good and bad stories... Generally go with a workshop that's been around for a while, noone stays in business long if they don't know what they're doing and just generate constant bad rep...

Yeah I understand people are going to have good/bad, if the good out weighs the bad I may try them if there are no "horror" stories.

if someone compared them to OH Performance that used to be in Sunshine I'd steer well clear...

What are you looking to get done?

Looking for someone that can do everything or as much as possible.

I need a hi-flow cat and a new boost controller to start with, then I'll be looking at flex fuel and a retune to suit.

I've been to chasers (west) to get a knock from the previous owner fixed, came out just as bad... good waste of money that was. So then I tried RE Customs, they fixed the knock so I've been going there for services and got them to install an aftermarket turbo. No complaints about the work except its just too far. Takes me an hour and a half to two hours to get there in "light" traffic.

Basic mechanical work like hi-flow cat's and a new boost controller installation can be done by nearly anyone... If you've got an aftermarket ECU though, it is WORTH spending the time travelling a little bit to go to a good tuner! Should only really need to be done only once or twice per year IF you keep modding throughout the year and plan out when it is going to need a new touch-up tiune.

I know thanks. I'd get it all done at once instead of getting 5 tunes obviously.
Somewhere decent in the western suburbs would be nice though, whether a big or small job, as I said I'd prefer to take it to the same place so they know the car and what they've done.

Edge is a great workshop, but they send a lot of their bigger welding jobs to me, not sure they have a permanent fabricator there at the moment.

I second this... chasers left a bad taste in my mouth. Edge motorworks will be under going some serious work on my r34 gtt sedan and shall be making well into the 300++ rwks by next week. They are professional, prompt and clean n chian is a wicked tuner

Hope to see it there Rob, my Yellow evo is there for a stroker build. :)

Love Cihan's tuning and the way he explains any issues he's having with the car, I always leave happy... Well other than that one time I lifted the head during a run. :P

I also know Barry and Kennan, ive known Kennan since he was a little kid riding his bike in my area.

Kennan breathes, eats and shits Nissans, when i take my stuff to Barry its only he and Kennan that i trust.

Barry is old school, very honest and down the line, ive watched him work carefully and he does things how i would have done them myself.

Thats why when im busy or there is no room in the garage to work, we send them our own cars.

Also their Dyno guy, Ghian is really good at what he does, one particular car from Sydney was sent to them, a Supra with the plates Gameon produced some really good figures....run in tune was 31psi, 7500 redline making 750Kw at the rears....i wont get into what it made on 3 bar......

They will be installing. running in and tuning our RB26/30 when the time comes.

I also noted a lot of RB28 strokers in his engine room being built right now between the 2JZ's.

    • Ok gotcha, so one post to fpr  another to bov  and I have the mishimoto boost controller and a link g4+ so I’d just have the tuner set it up properly. For the last two from plenum post throttle to  ecu/ boost controller, I know that I have a hose coming from the ecu that I was confused about so I assume that’s what connect to the boost controller from the ecu? And then the last is just from plenum to boost controller then to wastegate?
    • From there, it was just a quick electrical check, prime the oil and start her up Which, is not what happened. 1. Bloody seppo Aeropro battery holder. Not only was it too tall for the battery (which I'll forgive them for, I have another battery the same nominal size that is taller than Neil's one, but the bracket is a fixed height so the battery was spaced up) But the thing that really shits me is the hardware to hold it on requires a 7/32 Hex key. WTF. No-one will ever be able to remove or install the damn thing without a hex key they don't own 2. Kill switch no longer worked once the console was installed. Neil mentioned above he had to adjust the length but it no longer cleared the console once installed. Sorted. 3. Suspiciously, the brake light holders were hanging in the boot with no globes. Sure enough the stopper on the brake pedal was missing so they are always on unless the kill switch is activated. Will pick one up tomorrow (turns out 32 and 33 don't use the same stopper) 4. All that sorted, I turned on the kill switch, turned the key to ACC. Nothing. Turned it to IGN. Nothing. Checked some fuses and found the main IGN in the boot was missing which improved things once it was replaced. Now ECU and dash lights turn on with IGN but still no fuel pump. 5. Turned it to Start....ECU on, no fuel pump, no starter. Plus the voltage dropped straight to 9v.  I suspect the starter is f**ked but am going to have to work through it all and see what is happening, really looks like more than one issue. Does anyone have the R33 fuse box key with the circuit it sources from (eg BAT, ACC, IGN, SRT etc) and supplies? I can find a translated list showing Amps and circuit without supply circuit, and I can find supply circuit without Amps and target circuit.
    • 3rd time lucky, the AAC is now all plumbed up after getting some final fittings All set up under the plenum of maximum access
    • OK, so the weight has been bugging because it was really low. I did it again today and got a more believable answer at 1246 without driver And with a 93kg driver I'm pretty sure the car was still slightly on the quickjack last time meaning the full weight was not on the scales
