Tiptronic Problem

Hi, Last problem with my arx stag (i Hope!) Tiptronic wont work once cars hot. Goes ok from cold but after 20 or 30 k's reverts to default (4th). It also seems to change abit more than i thought it would - you cant really hold it in gear sort of half way between a auto & manual. Just had auto serviced ($350)(problem there before service). Auto works o.k but some harsh downchanges occasionally. Not really a problem. Cars done 155000km. 2001 2.5ltr turbo Thanks Brent

Harsh down changes occasionally may signify there is a shift kit installed, hopefully everything is fine with the install...

The gearbox won't select 5th gear until the engine temp is above 65 degrees, I would be getting it on a scanner to see if the engine coolant temp sensor is working fine first, then I would look at the gearbox fluid temp sensors (TP1 and TP2). What you described sounds the opposite of what should happen for some reason.

Might be a relay switch or something
