hysteresis
Hi guys, I wss just wondering what the solid metal cube about 2inches across attached to the bottom of the auto gearbox is for. It's attached via a 1 inch piece of rubber almost directly under the rear tailshaft where it exits the gearbox. Mine has detached...not sure if I should care... Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/434088-part-id-please/ Share on other sites
barnze
I think it is some kind of balance weight. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/434088-part-id-please/#findComment-7081653 Share on other sites

scotty nm35
Anti vibration weight. Not that critical, I wouldn't bother replacing it personally. Did you notice any change in NVH or vibration? hysteresis
Thanks, yes there is a resonationg noise which occurs as I accelerate through 2500-3000rpm which is new. I had figured a trim panel or similar was coming loose in the rear. I'll look into it.
