How Bad Is Structural Rust And Can It Be Fixed?

Hey guys.

Got a RACV check on a R32 GTR today and it came back with structural rust and severe cracking to the chassis rails.

Is it worth fixing and if so how much would this cost me roughly to fix?

Any recommended body shops?

Sucks to hear man, one of my chassis rails are bent from a head on.. (Bought the car unaware of damage)

Going to cost me $300 just to get it all measured and checked out.

Is it worth it ? only a Pro can give you an estimate after a detailed inspection and you make the decision on price.

my thought from the few words you have mentioned "rust and structural" & R32GTR likely not.

as a passion and money pit will be your call

as an investment or good re-sell value - definitely never.

whats the third picture of ?

1. Rail - can be repaired/replaced. Likely surface rust from hitting something (often!)

2. Battery shelf - meh !

3. No Idea

The third picture is of the drivers side chassis rail, the first one is the passenger side chassis rail

from the pics (always clearer irl), looks to be surface rust atm.

strip it back, get a can of rust converter (like spray paint), and go to town on it.

Yeh I gave this one The flick no stress, found myself one thats had a considerable amount of work for not too much more hurt to the pocket, and NO RUST! haha
