  • I would also love some information on Osirus ($700) versus Haltech Platnium Pro ($2500) versus Greddy e-manage ($$??) on NA setup.

Are the above management systems compatible with our Japanese based 350GT's, as most information I found are based on G35's in America and if so what are the options for future Forced induction routes ?

Here are some places with Dyno's....i guess that means they do tuning too.... Tunehouse, IS Motor Racing, Pulse Racing, Croydon Racing Developments, Autotech, CV Perfomance,Leading Edge Motorsport, Power Tune, Insight Motorsports

Any help from other experienced members would be greatly appreciated.

So much to learn.. : )

They are all very different systems.

Osiris is a re flashing cable and software

Haltech is a standalone, but will need stock ecu to run some things

Greddy is a piggyback

It's easy to get Osiris to work with jap ecus. Most are mapped, but it's possible to add cars too. It's 700US plus shipping for the tuner cable.

I would recommend DVS Jez at Gosford for tuning, but unigroup also tuned uprev stuff.

Oh, and regarding forced induction, uprev will do anything easily on a stock motor. The limit of uprev is that is has to run a afm.

It will run any size injectors if you want to run 2000s, but it still needs a afm. I found the stock afm was just about out of range at 6psi. Uprev sell a tweaked afm, that will handle significantly more flow, but the car will need to be tuned with it. That would be a 500 or so hp afm. So, anything you want to do on a stock motor, uprev will do. If you want 600kw on a built motor, then uprev isn't the best option as you need to run MAP

You can get the Uprev Osiris from East Coast Customs in QLD, I tuned my car with the standard version ($500) that comes with 3 e-tunes (record data-log and rom files, send to East Coast Customs, they tweak the rom file accordingly and send back to you to upload to your ECU). Obviously its not the best or accurate way for tuning, but it suits my purposes and the tuner version ($700) has plenty more parameters you can adjust by yourself or a dyno tuner.

i am currently tuning my v36 with uprev tuner by sending datalogs to the usa, i did run into a problem tho. After i reflashed the ECU, hood open warning light is on permanently for some reason. other than that the progress is going along slowly, i will put it on dyno and get some numbers when its fully tuned.

Take a look at this: http://www.uprev.com/documentation/Popup%20Hood%20Reset.png

Can be a pain to do (sometimes takes me 5-6 tries), but it does work.

when processing this procedure, does the uprev cable has to be connected to the car? Or i can just get in and follow the steps as followed.

Sorry abit noob to this, thanks

No need for the uprev cable. That image looks like it's taken from the service manual, not made by uprev

  • 3 weeks later...

My uprev flash has been completed. Very happy with the result. My car was running abit lean with abit of extra juice it made a big difference in torque at lower rev band so the car takes off much quicker. The engine is much happier to rev and tuner also switched the cooling fan system on at 95c instead of 100c.

My mods are stillen high flow cat, megan racing cat back, k&n filter.

Bought the uprev package from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uprev-Osiris-Tuner-package-with-FREE-ETUNING-and-FREE-shipping-/141011901348?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item20d4f6dba4&vxp=mtr

The seller is quick to respond and all you have to do is datalog with cipher and send it to him. He will send you back a modified rom file and as well as a back to stock rom file.

Cheers

I don't think it's possible with the DD, you have much the same ecu as the M35 Stagea.

There was a guy (Baz?) selling an aftermarket ecu for the DD, it was a few months ago but I think he still has it. Look down the threads a while and see if you can find it. (Could have been in the Stagea parts section.) Otherwise you might be able to run an emanage ultimate?

If you are chasing more power, you bought the wrong engine. Perhaps start by cleaning the intake for more performance?

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)

    • I'd love a Haltech ECU, and Haltech 10 dash. Was having a chat with Rob and Andy @ Haltech when Rob put one in his MR2. First one I'm kind of interested in too, as you can dim it RIGHT down. Andy was saying bright dashes is one of his peeves too!
