hi

1. i have camber arms and traction rods to go in the rear of my R33 GTST and the bolts to undo the camber are so tight i am worried i am gonna strip them -

question is, is there any tricks to get em off ? or suck it up and tried harder - just feels like i aint getting anywhere - plus my local sterring and suspension mob want $440 to replace them.

Q2. i have just replaced my brake shoes and i am testing them and they seem to be moving (working corectly) so i put a rotor on and tried the handbrake and it still seems very light - its dosnt get tight as i lift it up plus i can still spin the rotor once it is on.

could it be it needs tightening?

if so what is it i am tighting ? pls point it out in the pic below - because the only thing on each shoe that looks like i could turn is actually a pin holding the shoe..

if someone could point it out in the pic that would be helpfull

( my handbrak failed after two hits on my last drift day - went basically limp and weak ) please ignor how untidy they currently are -

i can not see anything there that adjust the shoes -

dose anyone no of a pic that can show me what i should be adjusting -

the above pic is of my R33 gtst rears and i only put in new shoes and everything is there..

as i mentioned above post i was drifting and used the handbrake 2 times then it went limp and only just worked when handbrake was fully on (well i could feel it wokring but didnt do much) handbrake still feels the same like the handbrake is just going through the motion not locking-

any help or ideas

There should be an adjuster at the bottom - between the 2 brake shoes. When you turn the toothed wheel, it screws the ends in or out (ie gets longer or shorter) depending on which way you turn it. This pushes the shoes in or out.

mmmmm thats what i thought i seen in a pic i found but i dont have that on eirther side....

ill double and tripple check the work area but i dont remember seeing it - must have come out when the brake failed but the chances both falling out are fairly slim?

There is an adjuster on the brakes that looks like this:

You need to put the rotor on, it will have a hole in it (usually covered by a rubber grommet) where you use a screwdrive to turn the above adjuster, I cant remember which way is tighter (up or down) but you can probably work this out before you put the rotor on then do it

Usually you do it up till the rotor starts going tight then back it off 2-3 notches or so. Just make sure the brake isnt dragging.

Do one side then do the next
