hello i have a problem with my skyline r34 gtt 2 door.

The thermostat wasn't even plugged into the thermostat temperature plug. But the car runs fine. But my other skyline r34 4 door doesn't have the resistor on the same plug, Should i take out the resistor or should i leave it in there doesn't look like it was meant to be in there.

If anyone can help me out please email me or can look up me on facebook.

Thanks

Aaron

That's not the thermostat. It's the ecu's temp sensor. Someone seems to have added the resistor to trick the ecu into thinking the engine temp is different therefore running a different mixture. I would pull it out and plug it in like it should be, as thats not an appropriate way to "tune" a car.

Unless the temp sensor rooted, which could be the reason they used a resistor in the first place. If you have a multimeter you can measure the resistance of the sensor when the engine is cold then measure it again when the engine is hot, the resistance should decrease as it heats up.
