Will that gear box fit straight onto a rb30e? Btw it's a auto to manual conversion on a VL :-)

And yes, remember to remove the auto spigot (if it has one) or you'll spend all day trying to ram your gearbox in

I do but I'm gonna put it onto my other VL which has a na rb30

All RB's have the same bell housing and crank bolt patterns. So you will be able to bolt the gearbox to the engine.

However fitting the gearbox into the car may require some work. I recommend you start searching, particularly on commondoor forums.

RB25DET is same basic box as VLT, so that should fit into the tunnel and there will be crossmembers to suit.

The gearbox crossmember might be different. Depends on what the auto box had/was.

I have a custom tail shaft to suit a vl with a 25 box and cross member for sale

How much just for crossmember and where are you located?

The vlt mx7 gearbox has a bigger bell housing so the rb25 fits in easy. A mx7 tail shaft fits as well you will also need to adapt the vl slave (drill and tap 2 holes) or use a rb25 slave and get a new line made up use a rb25 fly and clutch aswell and there's something you need to rewire to get the tail lights to work I think that's all it's been a while sine iv done it

And you might need to space the crossmember off the body 20mm so that it goes into gear without hitting floor pan and you'll need the floor pan plate out of a manual or holesaw your auto one
