R32 Gtr Gearbox Cross Member Bolts - Stripped

we changed my clutch last week and found that one of the gearbox cross member nuts inside the chassis rail is stripped and we couldn't tighten the bolt as it keeps spinning,

just wondering if its ok to run a Helicoil through all 4 bolts, would it be strong enough?

also my rubbers are thrashed so il need to replace those too haha

If the nut is still welded up inside then a helicoil is your only option short of drilling it out and tapping to a bigger size. Helicoil would likely be a better option than that.

Helicoils are heaps strong. You would have no probs.

Had the same issue. I drilled mine out to 12 mm and used high tensile bolts. Rock solid!

yeah it's a common problem - the gearbox x member bolts are m8 fine not coarse thread and many cars have been stuffed before they get here

Yep I had that a few weeks ago too actually the thread is m10 x 1.25 I got new super pro rubbers from kudos as well and changed to nismo mount while I was at it, hellicoil worked perfectly .i have a few spare if you need them.

a fair few launches.
