I have a stock r33 seat. It may have been rained on last night, I'll check. Though if you're using it just to pass inspection it should be good

any modification that was not factory needs to be engineered, so just remove it and yeah thats fine

Maybe it's changed since I've been over, but i've cleared a defect before, and my car has various mods which they didn't tell me I needed an engineers report for. My advice, go over and have a go, make sure you have an english language manual and the relevant tire placards and engine compartment stickers (in english) as they can pick you up on that. If you havent got that stuff, trojan can source it for you.

I went through with an aftermarket pod filter. He asked if I had any mods - I said the only thing I am aware of is the Pod filter he said and I quote "nah, you don't need an engineers cert for that". Also - coilovers were accepted, however it needs to be legal height and correct parts. ALSO I had a turbo timer which they asked about, "is that a turbo timer?" Me: "yes but i can force it off by lifting the hand break" him: "demostrait please - okay all good".

So there are a few things you can pass that is not factory but if it's easy to change out id recommend it.

I passed 2 weeks ago - I'm sure it's a case by case - also I acted as if I didn't know anything about cars (which is pretty close to the truth haha) and so they were quite helpful and lenient.

Edit: I also got a Trojan to fit and install parts so it looked as if I wasn't doing the dodge and that the stuff was correctly installed - which helped A LOT ! As they questioned things and after I gave my invoice they didn't check the installed parts and just ticked the boxes the invoice said was complete.

Dude you're f**king replacing the car, why do you give a shit to put effort in and have it passed? Just cancel the rego on it the day before they do so you get a pro rata refund and forget about it.

yeah attractive to next buyer if just passed dickson. im a fan of passing cars first go, i usually talk to whoever mechanic prior says what im doing that needs fixing and queary him on anything if im unsure. however i do eveything myself and like to think my mehanical knowledge is reasonable. so yeah

If you're selling it with a roadworthy, you're kidding yourself. Will end up spending SO much more time and money to get it than the car is worth. f**k that.

Just cancel the rego and get a dodgy RWC, then sell it with that.

Once the rego is cancelled (either by yourself or the RTA if you leave it that long), there IS NO DEFECT TO CLEAR. The car just requires a roadworthy to have registered. All defects are tied to the rego (which is tied to the car). No rego = no defect. New rego = no defect.

Thanks mate,

I might just chuck some stock rims, stock exhaust and raise my coilovers up and try pass. If they pull me up on suspension then I'll get that sorted.

I'll put car seat covers on and just stay in my seat.

Anyone got the username manuals etc that I will need?

Not true. At all.

Hope they don't give you too much pain Dan. If they heard yours no doubt my mate will get a letter for his white s15. :\ so glad i never go up there.

The thing is Troy that I won't have the R34 until after Christmas and taxi is too expensive to work

Alrighty, but don't think just coz Jeremy got lucky and actually passed without an engineer's cert and/or reaming for other pointless shit, you will too. I highly recommend getting your "child restraint anchors" fitted BEFORE they tell you to do it.

I'll go check it out on my lunch and see what child restraints I have.

Pretty sure it's still fitted but if not then I have one I can put on.

I'll get as much of the noticeable shit that they would be ping me for done.

Then just take it through so I can get a list of what else needs doing.
