on series 1 m35 with the double din 6 stack cd tape, does anyone know why you need the specific bose intergration harness?

i gave my new head unit a test fit today just using a cheap $15 iso to nissan harness and it worked fine with no issues at all and it sounded like the amp and speakers still worked as normal.

so my qestion is why have i read threads that say i need the specific nissan/bose intergration harness for $220???????

thanks. your input is much appreciated.

Looks like you don't :)

Was yours the one with the integrated stereo & AC? If not, maybe it's those that need something more special. I guess you can count yourself lucky for it to be so easy/cheap.

My double DIN was in before I bought the car. They removed the OEM single DIN & 3 gauge cluster, & the wiring behind looks pretty 'custom' - not PnP with an adaptor.

What did you install & did you want to post a pic if it's put back together?

Cool I will save myself $200 then,

Mine is the double din unit with the a/c integrated circuit board.

I had to purchase the new facia and a/c panel cost me about $300 still waiting on it to arrive.

Apparently the way to tell a Bose system from the standard One is "bose" is on the cassette door.

I went with a double din unit that has sat nav, DVD, iPod input, blue tooth, rear cam input all the bells and whistles but in saying that its a middle of the range China import. But works great and does everything I need it to do.

I will post a pic after i install it all. Just waiting on the facia.

i have an integrated non-bose stereo in mine. I lucked out on the weekend and salvaged a single din + storage compartment fascia. Does anyone have a wire diagram, so as to save some trial and error time?

Did you get the a/c panel with the facia?

Best way to wire in the aftermarket head unit is to buy a ISO-nissan plug n play harness. They are about $15 on eBay. Or even easier if you can get a harness nissan to "the brand of head unit" you have.

Yeah, AC panel & module is included bolted into the back of the fascia.

The wires from the aftermarket stereo have already been chopped lol but I will look into the ISO harnesses, cheers!

So how do you figure you lucked out? Lol . Looks like you got everything you need apart from the harness.

And you don't even really need the harness if you can use and know how to read a multimeter. You can splice it in if you need to.

Apparently some people don't like the aftermarket buttons because they are rubbery not hard plastic. But I personally like the aftermarket ones better.
