Hi all,

We swapped an R32 RB26 into a R34 GT-Four (RB25DE NEO) and are having some temperature issues.

It currently has the stock instrument cluster and the coolant temp sender on the engine is a yellow sender.

Should this be swapped to a blue sensor ?

It seems to run well (ecu sender correct ?) But the gauge reads quite high.

Thanks,

^^^ this, use the instruments original temp sensor and use the ecus original temp sensor . . .this may fix the high temp reading you are getting on the dash (incorrect signals could be coming from both)

Cheers guys.

The question is do i need to change the sensor, in other words, are they different ?

The ECU is the R32 ecu so it runs fine. I read on there that the RB25 Neo has the same sensor as the RB26 so that's why I am asking.

The old motor was sold off long ago unfortunately so we can't check without getting a new sensor.

Thanks.

Ahh, that makes sense that you don't just swap it then! What about checking how hot your engine is actually running? Maybe it is actually running hot. If you have a consult cable use that, or an infra red heat gun, or aftermarket gauge.
