Ok, much talk about 'tech/mech' stuff, I enjoy that but I'd really like to know where to head if I want to hit the road for a day or two, I'm looking for you're best road trips .. I cant find any threads on this so I hope it helps out others as well and if there's enough interest this can be a work in progress, i.e. if some goes for a drive and enjoys it give us an update and let us know, there are lots of weekends/long weekends and we need to enjoy them and enjoy our cars.

Looking for 1 to 3 day drives, such as a weekend or a long weekend, obviously the usual country and mountain roads which we all enjoy but also good places to stay and good places to stop for coffee, food or photos etc.

With some breaks coming up over the Christmas period, combined with some work about to be done on my car, I'm looking forward to getting into my car and getting a few road trips in .... any suggestions greatly appreciated and I hope this may inspire others to hit the road and enjoy our Skylines.

Safe driving everyone

Down to Melbourne and then onto tassie for a day and back again can be done over 2-3 days.

It is a trip I have not done in a while but one I really enjoyed. Lot's of awesome stuff crammed onto that little island.

Is Truth. :D

A few years back a mate and I went up to Byron Bay for a couple of weeks in my U13 Bluebird. He Navigated? and I did all the Driving.

2 days up and 2 back staying in Tamworth and Gunnedah. The inland road was Very cool with lots of wide open Country to see. Great Drive.

Yep .... I've done that drive via the Putty Road, one of my Fav roads.

Most years I travel to the Gold Coast via the inland roads and spend a week at the Gold Coast then drive back to ACT on the Coast Rd. I love that trip esep the Putty Road thing via Jerrys Plains, front inside wheel off the ground stuff .... nice road.

Yep a great drive

If you go south, go via Caan river, you end up in Gippsland on the way to Phillip island, Bells beach, Wilsons prom etc

Or over Dead Horse Gap above Thredbo, lovely roads both ways.

Just follow the bikes

Ok ... here's one,

I've done this a couple of times, headed to Bight in the Southern Alpine region, winter was great with log fires and red wine etc. It's the usual boring drive from ACT to Albury along the freeway but take the first turn off and it's a great drive. At Albury take the first Wodonga and Yakandandah turn off to the left, amazing country roads through some spectacular scenary into Myrtleford and then into Bright.

Bright is a great little village at the foot of the Vic Alipne region (from here head up to Mt Hotham) and there are plenty of drives up and over mountains (depends on time of year) some very nice day tips. I stayed at the Merrimeet Cottages at Bright, nice place.

This is an ideal 3 day trip, drive down (5 hours) ... stay 2 nights and drive back on the third day.

I've driven around Australia. Not many to mention (I hate driving long distance haha) however, Victoria was very nice - green lush grass either side - cold night driving, nice roads.

Great Ocean road was good - didn't really feel like 50km/h though.

I have driven up to Mt.Kosciusko, very decent drive (MASSIVE LAKE in the middle which was nice) as well as mountain roads.
