From Autosport

That is why it was fascinating to hear from Vettel on stage at the AUTOSPORT Awards – a now regular appearance where those present see what the real man is like – how things are not always so rosy with Marko.

"I got a big wake-up call in Hungary," said Vettel, referring to the last race where anyone other than him won.

"I thought I did a decent job on the Saturday. Pole was a very, very close fight with Lewis – I think there was only a few hundredths difference.

"I was happy with my lap in my final attempt in Q3 but I knew pole was for grasp, so I was not entirely happy. I got to my room, got changed and when I was in my underpants Helmut Marko opened the door, and he said: 'You f**ked that one right up!'

"I asked him what he meant.

"He replied: 'Turn 5, I saw it. If you only copied the lap from Q2 in Turn 5 you would have pole.'

"What most people don't see is that this year has been a tricky year in some respects. People always think that Helmut and I are like best mates. But actually the example I am giving you is that he was never shy of giving me shit and probably never will be.

"So he gave me a massive bollocking for f**king it up. I said on Turn 5 he had a point, as he had spoken to the engineers so was well informed. But it wasn't an awful lap. He said, 'Yeah but you should still have got pole.'

"Next day, we finished third which I think was a good recovery for the race we had, getting stuck in traffic and so on. But he said, 'You see, yesterday you get pole you win the race; you didn't get pole, you f**ked it up; and today you saw you had a shit race!' I said, 'Thanks for the summary!'"

Interesting, so Marko is a ball beaker.

I don't like people that state the obvious like that, it drives me up the wall.

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher is in hospital after suffering a head injury in a skiing accident.

The 44-year-old fell while skiing on unmarked slopes in the French Alps and hit his head on a rock.

He was attended to within minutes of the accident before being airlifted to Moutiers hospital.

Despite initial reports suggesting his injuries were serious it is believed that Schumacher, who was wearing a helmet, is not in a serious condition.

According to the Press Association, Gernignon Christophe Lecomte - director of the Meribel resort in which Schumacher was staying – told Radio Monte Carlo Sport that the ex-Ferrari and Mercedes racer was conscious, and was airlifted with 15 minutes of the accident.

The German's manager Sabine Kehm confirmed nobody else was involved in the fall, and was also quoted as saying: "Michael fell on his head when he was on a private skiing trip in the French Alps. He was taken to hospital and is receiving professional medical attention.

"We ask for understanding that we cannot give out continuous information about his health."

oh lawd, now we're going to have to suffer days of youtube videos in tribute

fcuk i hope he makes it, I can't deal with all those forza fcuking idiots for the next month

she'll be right, he was walking around after the incident

might be a bit slower, but the tribute pages will have to wait for another day

With that injury it's common. I wouldn't say he is out of the woods.

It takes a little while for the brain haemorrhage to build pressure. That's when it does it's damage, and that's why he was walking round, then went into a coma.

They proceed to drill a hole in your skull to release the pressure. Poor guy, hoping for the best for him, and it would have been terrible for his son to experience.

    • The only high-power RB I've personally seen go pop after running for all of an hour on a dyno was built by B2R, while being remotely tuned by B2R. The only wastegates I've ever had leak like a sieve, return, still leak, return and get shipped back the wrong ones were from Turbosmart. The only final drive that I've ever purchased that were unusable, twice... were from Speedtek. The only seat mounts that I've ever purchased that placed the seats in the door frame were from Crank Motorsport. The only poorly designed parts that I had the manufacturer confirm should have been designed as per what I mentioned were from GKTech. The only ECU I've had firmware updates consistently break things are Haltech. The only catch can I've purchased that didn't fit in its advertised spot was from ATP. So forth and so on... Moral of the story, doesn't matter where it's from. Do your research beforehand and stick with products and companies you've trusted in the past.    @joshuaho96 If you want it done right, do it yourself.
    • Something coarse-ish. 180 is good.
    • I was surprised to see all the quick Jack models at the same prices on there. But yeah, grabbing one at 20% off would be great.
    • I wonder if these would be discounted when they have their big sales? because if so would be a great time to actually buy them could even end up cheaper than buying from quickjack in the end.
    • Which grit sand paper did you use on the pulley btw? Thought I'd ask so I don't scratch it up too much
