Coilovers, Tein Or Bc Racing?

So ive come up with the cash to put towards a set of coilovers and im now stuck on which of these to get, BC racing ER series or TEIN super street damper series.

The car in question is a 94 R32 GTR and my intention is mostly daily driven but im gonna get it on the track occasionally.

So if anyone with experience with either of these can throw in their opinion that would be great, Thanks.

Also is the TEIN EDFC worth setting up?

Not an expert but we just put new BC ER's into an R33 GTST, and went out to play at Collingrove hillclimb on Saturday. Were very impressed with them - money well spent (so far anyway).

It depends exactly what you want your suspension to do.

TEIN Super Streets for a long lasting kit that is nice for street use, which will be very compliable over bumps and such things due to softer spring rates and less aggressively valved twin tube shocks.

BC ERs for a kit that is nicer on the track, more aggressive in spring rates and valving of the monotube shock absorbers. Also bump and rebound adjustability seperate rather than together with the TEINS.

I'm not sure where you live but TEIN Super Streets will be much easier to get over the pits/traffic here in WA than the BC's would be

tein coilovers are quite well built. had the super drifts.... very nice

the EDFC... nice to have but if ur cranking takes a while u might get errors cos the unit cant sense the motors.

Okay well im still a bit struck between which one to get. Like I understand that the BC racing ER series is a bit more track orientated then the Teins but what I really want is just the better quality product. I just really dont want to skip quality on this car so if anyone can vouch for either brand to be of the better quality please let me know.

havent tried BC...but if i had to choose....Tein.

Yeh I am leaning more towards the Teins cause people keep saying they are a lot smoother on the street which to be honest is what the car is gonna be mainly doing is my daily drive. Just wanna get a few more opinions in before I decide.

Spend half the price and get BC/HSD?

If you have the cash, then splash out on TEINs or even better, Bilstein/Ohlins.

Nizmo_man, ive actually wanted the bilstein/ohlins combo but I cant find the kit anywhere.

If you could point me in the right direction I will most likely get them

I've got tein super streets. they are great for street driving. I love them.

fairly comfortable, (still firm, not soft squishy falcon comfortable). good for dealing with bumpy uneven roads.

combined with good swaybars, the car handles quite well.

for a track oriented car, i would probably say super streets are a little too soft.

My Ohlins are 3rd hand, so can't tell you where to buy new (if you can). But I'm sure someone will be able to whip up a Bilstein kit for you (e.g. this, then springs of your choice and get the dampers revalved to match the springs).

I also have old TEINs, which I used for a track day. Almost twice as stiff as the Ohlins/Eibach combo but a lot better for the track (I'm guessing they are early model HR). Bit too stiff for street driving in Sydney (depends on how much you can tolerate).

I know my experience is with old suspensions, but will give you an idea. At the end of the day, your budget is the limiting factor.
