Lol thanks mate! lots and lots. So no one knows any big power rb25s??

I have in my head these guys claimed something near 600rwkw for this - but can't find the reference. Can't specifically remember, but it'd have to be pretty up there... sticky tyres and an auto doesn't create the power needed to get a Skyline to over 150mph in 9s flat, that engine is making serious power.

Have you hit the dyno again?

Have you had new numbers

Lol yes that is mine. Hmm not too fussed on quarter figures coz with slicks and an auto you can do magical stuff lol I know dynos can vary but would like to know a figure.

mph v weight is a more accurate hp measure than a dyno. slicks and auto have no bearing on trap speed.

My car might be back on dyno this week

So you're saying a car doing a 1.5 60ft time will have the same mph as a car with a 2.2 60ft time?? I dont think so.

Awesome, good luck! Will you upgrade the turbo if it doesn't make much more? I'm still iffy about the compressor in that turbo being able to make a lot more power and interested to see what happens.

In regards to the trap speed.. depends on what the cause is of the slower 60ft time... I know people who have gone from 2.2 to ~1.6 and the trap speed hasn't really changed appreciably... I guess see it as being the difference between doing 0-200kph in under 11s, or over 12s :)

Thanks man. Well being a custom wheel it is unknown what it will do. It make 530rwkw very easy on only 24psi with huge intake temps. Now I have new plazmaman cooler we will see what it makes on 24 again and on 30 plus psi.

I was working on the theory that it's based off the 52trim 94mm compressor from the GT4094R (~80lb/min), and figured you might make 520-540rwkw before the first tune if it was that compressor. Soaring intake temps at 'only' 24psi isn't normally a good sign for compressor flow, but hopefully it does just turn out to be a really poor intercooler.

Yes alex and henry are great guys!

Its definitely the cooler, will have results with plazmaman soon. It made 485 on 21 then 515 on 24. Let it cool for 2min and it made 527 on 24 again. Id be very surprised if it is near maxed out

The highest out put RB25det motor I've seen is 900HP from Nisma performance center.

I'm currently doing 490rwkws I don't think the rest of the hardware can take it any further. A list of your mods would be helpful.

Very interested in seeing how the results go! What is your target?

    • Unless you have big cams, there is no reason for an RB to idle at any more than the stock 650. No, it is not 850, 950, or anything else. It is 650. In fact, it might even be 550. I just opened an arbitrary stock Neo file in Nistune, and this is what I see
    • I love the undertray, especially the flappy bit for easier access for serving I'm thinking of fabing up one at work for the MX5 while I still have access to the metal shop at work with a guillotine and press brake Whilst removing the plastic undertray on the MX5 isn't to hard, I love the idea of a 2 bolt flap as opposed to removing the whole thing
    • Great thank you for that. Yeah that is the bumper and spoiler it still has i just hadn't heard of it being referred to as a aero form bumper before. Really appreciate your help.
    • A little progress; I took the opportunity of an oil change to take a sample for oil analysis, will be interesting to see how it was treated for its first 125,000klm (I know how it has been treated since ) I went with 5w40 and will see what that does for oil pressure at higher revs. Also fitted the Z1 front undertray....a little more sturdy than the plastic factory one (although I suspect it won't stop a tree stump ) Nicest thing about it really is the 2 bolt "service panel"....a gift to the oil changer compared to removing 14 bolts holding the factory tray.
    • I think a scissor lift is better/faster in most cases, but I guess it does obstruct access to the centre of the car? BTW I weighed the quick jack. 3.5 tonne model is 50kg for each side. So yes, portable, but not with one finger
