Hey guys

I've recently been having some troubles with my S1 33 N/A after my dad decided it would be a good idea to spray under my bonnet with water..

Since then, the car's not reving over 2000 RPM whilst in drive. (It revs fine when in park or neutral)

I've heard that it could possibly be my AFM but wanted to get more opinions first, could anyone help me out please?

Cheers.

But honestly, if it's water related, half the time letting it just sit and run at idle for ages (Talking like an hour or so depending on water build up) will help to dry the water out and let it run better.

Even better if you can do it outside on a hot day with the bonnet up in the sun.

have a look down the side of your spark plugs/coils, probably has water in there

Take of coil cover check for water in each plug likely to be some in there around the coils.

nah...this would cause it to run like a sack of balls....

Yeah still not sure what's wrong, i mean it idles fine and everything, but as soon as i put it in drive it won't rev over 2k..

I did replace the AFM with one which was said to be working.. So either it's another problem, possibly the wiring to the afm??

or the replacement afm i bought is also dodgy..

What I understand so far;

You own a r33 with a rb25de

You have a auto trans

Only revs pass 2k in park and neutral

You already replaced the afm

My questions are;

This a Zenki or Kouki?

The afm new or used?

Have you pulled the coils and plugs out?

Have you looked at the connection to the afm?

Did you check you ignitor on your cover?

Have you checked the fluid level in your trans? Color right?

Checked your trans computer and main ECU?
