Hi everyone, My 34GTT recently changed the air filter from the blitz sus power air cleaner to the blitz advance power air cleaner. After that the car start running funny. about 1/2 throttle hit 3500~4000 rpm car suddenly lost power for few second and the rev stay at that for few second and start go up again, the rev is kind of like misfiring or boost cut (sorry I am still a noob about my car so cant tell) but it never happen before. Car had done the major service about 15000km ago and had my boost controller proper tuned on dyno , with all the new plugs and coil pack. I am suspect about the conflict between the boost controller and the new air filter,(boost controller is the HKS EVC6) because when I switch off the boost controller the car run fine when I turn it back on it happen again. Just want to know does it happen to anyone else, and is there any solution to solve it. Thank you

Did it happen as soon as you changed the filter or a bit after? Could be a number of things: coil packs failing, vacuum leak or a failing air flow meter would be my guesses.

I'm guessing something to do with your afm, prob knocked the plug. Just check over the whole area where you worked and see if there's anything sus ie; plugs not in flush, vacuum hoses with no destination

i have seen air filters be sooo restrictive that it changes the boost.

remove the air filter and see if the boost goes back up again. if it does then bin that filter.

here is on example where i saw it, check it out for a laugh.. pretty funny shit.

I take out everything and reinstall it back, finally find out the mounting point is very loose due to the broken screw. After changing the screw and reset the ECU, the car run fine again. Still don't know because of the AFM plug or the loose air filter cause the problem. But thanks for everyone input, I was really worry there is some big problem for my car.
